Specific Areas of Responsibility
Currently, Richard is Manager of the Network, Authentication, and Infrastructure team with in the Technology Audit Group at Wells Fargo which is responsible for ensuring adequate compliance coverage for technology enterprise-wide. He is responsible for:

  • Providing final approval on audit documentation, results, and IT risk reports presented to executive management.

  • Participating in the development and reviewing of corporate wide IT risk reporting to the Board of Directors Audit and Examination Committee.

  • Conducting and reporting on business analyses and risk assessments of corporate lines of business.

  • Working with Audit management to create and communicate the yearly audit cycle to IT partners

  • Escalating significant risks and loss exposures to appropriate levels of management including the Chief Information Officers and Chief Auditor.

  • Hiring, retention, training, and mentoring staff regarding required knowledge and skills in areas such as various technical areas, organizational skills, oral communications and writing.

  • Subject matter expert and investigations consultant for multiple technical areas covering Information Security, Risk Management, Business Continuity Planning, data encryption, operating systems, networking, applications, integration, and technical facilities.

Richard has over 15 years experience in distributed and specialized enterprise computing with a strong focus on network security, application security, and IT policy and governance. He has worked for such organizations as:

  • NextGen Technologies as a Sr. Security Auditor

  • Level (3) Communications as a manager for Global Data Center Operations and Corporate Security

  • University of Denver as a Information Systems Manager

  • The US Navy as a Signals and Cryptology Analyst

Top Secret – Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)

Educational Background
Richard has a Bachelors of Business Administration with a focus on Computer Information systems from Boise State University (1998) and served four years as a Signals and Cryptology Analyst in the U.S. Navy.
